Boston's Other Voice Radio Program Archives
Description
An account of the resource
Boston's Other Voice was an LGBTQ-themed radio magazine that ran from February 1981 to November 1989. The show was created by Don Latulippe, public affairs programming director at WROR-FM 98.5 (the FM sister station to WRKO-AM, both owned by RKO General), and psychotherapist Dennis Iadarolla.
The show was hosted from 1981-1985 by Dennis Iadarolla and from 1986-1989 by Peter Stickel. Don Latulippe hosted an interview with Stickel during this period, as well.
According to Peter Stickel, these recordings of the show were rescued as the station was sold and the show cut due in part to the public affairs program requirement ending during the Reagan administration.

Description
An account of the resource
Dignity/Boston was formed in the first waves of the Gay Liberation movement that followed the Stonewall Riots, and has been providing a home for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) Catholics, their friends and supporters since 1972. Dignity/Boston was formed to unite these people and provide an instrument through which the voices of GLBT Catholics may be heard by the Church and by society. In this photograph, members of the Dignity/Boston are shown marching with signs in the 1978 Gay Pride March. Some of the signs read: "Dignity Boston, Be not afraid, I go before you." and "We are Priests," "We are nuns," and "We are police."

Club Antorcha (initially Latinos Unidos) was founded in 1989 from a focus group and survey conducted by Orlando Del Valle on Latino gay men's health sponsored by Latino Health Institute. It provided a social network to develop the extended family bond, and expand the visibility of Latino gay men in Boston. The motto of Club Antorcha was "Illuminating Our History, Lighting the Present, A Beacon Into the Future" which you can see on the banner carried by the men in the photograph. Club Antorcha's founders include Orlando Del Valle, Wilfredo Escobar, Fernando Miranda, and William Vélez. José de Jesús, co-founder of El Comité, Jarrett Barrios, and Yuri Orellana are original members. The group ended in 1992.
