Tremblay and McGhee have been in a relationship for five years, and talk about their experiences with racism in the gay community, relationships with their friends and family in regards to their relationship, and whether or not racial preference is a fetish. They are members of the group Black and White Men Together, which is also known as Men of All Colors Together.

The term safer sex is used, instead of safe sex, to infer that sex cannot be 100% safe, but can be done more safely. James identifies some of the ways that HIV and AIDS can be transmitted, including oral sex and sexual intercourse, and discusses various barrier protections. He also brings up issues of denial, trust, and communication in relationships.
