An account of the resource
Gay Community News was a weekly journal published in Boston from 1973 to 1992 by the Bromfield Street Educational Foundation. The entire Organizations series has been digitized and may be available through email by contacting The History Project at info@historyproject.org.

As of Feburary 2024, approximatley 150 more items were digitized and made accessible including from the "People" and "Staff" series in celebration of GCN's 50th anniversary. Boston's Other Voice Radio Program Archives
Description
An account of the resource
Boston's Other Voice was an LGBTQ-themed radio magazine that ran from February 1981 to November 1989. The show was created by Don Latulippe, public affairs programming director at WROR-FM 98.5 (the FM sister station to WRKO-AM, both owned by RKO General), and psychotherapist Dennis Iadarolla.
The show was hosted from 1981-1985 by Dennis Iadarolla and from 1986-1989 by Peter Stickel. Don Latulippe hosted an interview with Stickel during this period, as well.
According to Peter Stickel, these recordings of the show were rescued as the station was sold and the show cut due in part to the public affairs program requirement ending during the Reagan administration.

Description
An account of the resource
In this recording of Boston's Other Voice, which aired on September 4, 1988, host Peter Stickel interviews Will Hutchinson from the Greater Boston Lesbian & Gay Political Alliance. The interview begins with Hutchinson speaking about his educational background and how he came to be a part of the LGBTQ political movement in Boston. The topic for the interview is politics and romance, and Hutchinson speaks about what it is like to date a politician. He also discusses the link between sexuality and gay politics, since so many of the political issues for LGBTQ people are sexual. Hutchinson also speaks about the Alliance's support of Stephen Holt to fill a State Senate seat that is opening up. Holt, according to Hutchinson, would be more supportive of lesbian and gay rights in Massachusetts. The interview also touches on Hutchinson's relationship with his son and issues concerning adoption for gay couples.
