Gay Community News was a weekly journal published in Boston from 1973 to 1992 by the Bromfield Street Educational Foundation. It was an important resource for the LGBT community, reporting a wide variety of LGBT related news. <br /><br />The Gay Community News photograph collection housed at Queer History Boston consists of approximately 1500 photographs, most of which are black and white prints. The photographs were taken for possible use in the journal and donated to Queer History Boston following the closure of GCN. QHB staff members created three series of photographs, categorizing the images by 1. Organizations, 2. People, and 3.
