Description
In this recording of Boston's Other Voice, which aired on April 4, 1988, host Peter Stickel interviews self-described female impersonator and Miss Gay New England Jim Wilson, aka "Joanna James." Wilson describes what he sees as the distinction between "cross-dressing" and female impersonation. Wilson also describes how he developed his performing persona, how he bought his gown for Miss Gay New England at Saks Fifth Avenue, and how he began doing female impersonation.
